I have a 289 currently and could easily get my hands on a 302. Just wondering if I put the 302 in instead of the 289 how much extra work and altering i would have to do to my 1965 Ranchero.

Also I have the horrible front end squeak and need to try and fix it. I have greased everything without it stopping.

I recently completed just this same swap. Mine was a 1969 302 and was a direct bolt-in. I don't know which other years would be a direct fit, but I do have a book that may show which 302 would be a bolt-in. (I think). It's titled FORD Engine Parts Interchange written by George Reid. Do you have a specific year 302 in mind?

Search for my thread titled "302 for SmithKid".
