Correct Gas Cap for 64 Sprint?

I have a question that's been nagging me for about 5 years. Back in 1971 I bought a 64 Sprint and it had the plain gas cap with the closely spaced ridges around the outside. In 2015 I bought another 64 Sprint and it has the gas cap with the Falcon Logo on the inside.

Which is the correct cap or was one or the other an option? I've attached pictures of both.

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet it's the plain one. I'm suspecting this since the Sprint wasn't the classy car (the Futura was the classy Falcon). You'd think there are photo's from a dealer or Ford from back then. I'll have to go through my pile of images when I get a chance.

Thanks for looking. I think you’re probably right because back in 71 when I had my first Sprint it had the the plain cap and at that time the car was only 7 years old so it had a lot fewer years to get swapped out. Of course back then we had the gas shortage and I put a locking cap on to keep from getting my gas stolen.
