    Spindle swap

    Hey all,
I am working on the steering and front suspension on my 63 Ranchero V8 car (big tie rod ends). I'm at the point of replacing the tie rod ends and they are spendy!! $174 each for inners and $117 for the outers. That $582 before shipping and taxes.

I can buy the 1965 falcon spindles for $365 for both and an get $26 tie rods.

    So here are my questions.

    1) Are there impacts to changing the spindle to a later model other than tie rod size?

    2) Are there cheaper tie rod ends than I am finding that will fit the original spindle?

    Thanks as always

I think the general consensus has been to shift over the 65 front end. Not as simple as that since you need steering box all the way out. But in the long run, with cost of parts and future availability of parts, it's the way to go. But, if you can get the parts for the 63, and the steering box is good (them can be pricy to replace unless you can find a good used one), you my find the cost a wash when you include that.
