Just a reminder that this Saturday is the tech day we established to help Jerry Kirby on his '65, so he'll be posting the location and how soon we can arrive. He was going to supply filet mignon for lunch. Or maybe that was burgers.

If any want to commute there, 'fess up soon so we can arrange that.

I live in Fairway Estates. It is gated but the gate will be open. Take a left as you come in and we are on the left about a block or so up. Large green house.

As far as arriving, anytime after 7:30 AM would be OK. Will have coffee on and pastries in the warming oven. I tried to get the Metro Grill to cater lunch however they declined said something about not going out of state. I was fortunate enough however to get Burger King at the last minute. Wasn't that a stroke of luck?

I would like a head count on who is coming as we have occupancy regulations here of not over 150 guests. And there is only room to park about 15 or 20 cars. Actually the real reason is I need to know how many cases of beer to buy. Thanks in advance.

Well... we managed a whopping 3 people to show up and help Jerry. Those who did come were:

Whoo-hoo.

Despite the lack of people we managed to roll the rear fenders to provide the clearance he needed for his tires; re-route the emergency brake cable (under, rather than over the driveline); assemble the heater box (didn't get it installed though); installed one piece of windshield trim; two door panels in the back; and installed the back seats.

We just couldn't get more done due to lack of people. Thanks.

I had never belonged to a "car club" before and any questions I ever had about what a club actually is were answered for me last Saturday. Roger, Gene and John unselfishly gave up a whole day, which included a long drive, eating a bad burger from Burger-King, squeezing into a cold undersized garage to give me help I could never thank them enough for. Hands on is what it is all about.

By the way John Henry and Art actually did get the heater box in. All that has to be done is install the hoses and control cables. John also installed the interior chrome pieces that frame the windshield. And the tool to flare the rims worked OK and is available for loan.

Jerry, sorry for the small turn out. I have two small girls (3 and 7) and have a hard time even negotiating time to work on my own car (which is pretty obvious if you have ever seen it). I rarely get to come to these things.

I hope you were able to get a direction going on some of the projects you need to complete before the car hits the pavement.

Keep us posted. I hope you have a few shots of the day you can upload.

Sorry I wasn't there to lend a hand Jerry. I had forgot the specific date from the last meeting and didn't read the post until Thursday. I just had stuff I couldn't get out of but it sounds like you got a lot done.

It's always exciting when you start to get all the pieces put back into place and get ready for some cruise time. Due to a layoff, all my car projects are on hold while my wife goes back to school so I'm just in the keep it clean and running mode.

I'm glad to hear rolling the fenders went well. I've seen a few examples at car shows that weren't done well and it shows. Again, my apologies. My car interests have taken a back seat to some other hobbies/projects lately but hopefully when the sun starts to shine this summer I'll get back into it.
