This past Sunday, we drove The Wonder Falcon up US 19 on a 139-mile round trip from Tampa to Homasassa Springs.

Homasassa Springs was a famous privately-owned tourist attraction from the 20's to the 80's. It has an underwater observation chamber that was called "Nature's Giant Fish Bowl". It became a State park in 1989.

We also visited the ruins of the Yulee Sugar Mill. The Union Navy burned the owner's house to the ground (he was storing supplies and ammunition for the Confederate government) and the sugar mill fell into disuse after 1864. See: http://www.crystalriverstateparks.org/yulee.html The sugar mill is about three miles from Homasassa Springs.
