My brother sent me these pictures of a 47 Lincoln Zephyr where he installed the brake master cylinder sideways. Interesting thought.

Larry - image, if there is one, didn't come across. But I think you mean the M/C is mounted parallel to the firewall?

Wish I knew why the picture doesn't come out. It is there when I open up the Falcon thread. Oh, well. Yep, the M/C is parallel to the firewall. I will see if I can figure a way to get the picture there.

The picture link might be pointing to a location on your computer, which is why you see it. Here is the code driving that image. I removed the [IMG][/IMG] wrapper to make sure it just shows the code to you and not the image again. You can see it seems to be pointing to a mail.live.com address:
You should right-click the image, save as, and then save the image to your hard drive - then upload it using the image manager on this site and then it will be hosted on the Falcon site and not your local mail server.

Let's see if this works. If so, thanks again Roger. If not, back to the drawing board. Lar

I see it Larry, but it's a pretty small image. I think the early Econoline's did this. I pulled an e-brake handle from one of those a few weeks ago up in Arlington and noted the brake M/C was done that way. Can't recall if it was PB or not. It's probably still up there. I bet that's where that assembly came from.

Roger, my brother is having trouble getting a master cylinder that will fit in his 64 Fairlane. Do you have any info on the system you mention?

Other than seeing it in the wrecking yard (may still be there at the Arlington P-n-P) I can't.
I know that 66-67 Fairlanes used a M/C "riser" which allowed the booster to go almost to the top of the hoods. It uses some sort of cantilever riser to move the booster and M/C up over the shock tower. May be applicable here too.
