Wow Jeff! I'm surprised you didn't jump all over that. A genuine antique Western Electric 100w soldering iron with its own ladder mount cage (can also used as a room heater). Amazing how many reliable telephone connections have been made by those babies (hundreds of thousands just by me).

I almost had it in my hand but didn't want to lug it back in my luggage. I will already be at my weight limit with the extra cheese.
I didn't realize the stand was designed to mount on anything. Honestly I thought it was something you banged together from scrap metal. I was surprised to see this one identical to yours. Since this one was owned by a stranger, it didn't have the same sentimental feel as yours. I hope you were joking when you said it went into the trash.
