    Rear End Needed

    Gentlemen:

I am searching for a used rear end for a stock 1968 4DR Futura. The existing one died violently. 6cyl 170CID, (at least that's what I thought, recently decoding the VIN indicates a 200CID...I'll check on this futher).

Please let me know if any futher specs are required.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

    Derek

It is an 8" rear end? If so you should be able to find a complete center section easily.

Here's a link to a photo that shows the 8" and 7.25" side by side. An 8" would be much easier to find parts for. I found mine at the Pull-a-Part up in Lynnwood.

    Thank You

    Gentllemen:

Thanks for your time and information in your replies. I think I found a replacement in Vancouver WA, and will be making a trip there soon to verify.

Thanks again for the info. I'll post again if the part hunt in Vancouver doesn't work out.

    If it's a 7.25", there's one in Puyallup for $20. It's on craigslist:

If you are still looking I have an 8" out of my '68 that I don't need.

I saw this post this morning on my first visit to this site and decided I had better join just so I could reply and maybe save you a trip to Vancouver. I'm in Federal Way which should be a little closer.

Have some other left over '68 stuff, too. Mostly interior and the like. I'll be at Pacific Raceways tomorrow (4/7) but should be home most the day on Sunday.

    Let me know.
