    In Trunk Gas Filler

I was getting ready to install the in-trunk tank filler pipe but there is something that is bothering me. Don't fuel fumes collect in the trunk while performing the filling process? If the fumes are heavier than air won't they settle in the trunk? Then when I turn on the stereo with all my sub-woofers in the trunk won't that send me in orbit? Larry

If you're filling at 99% of the gas stations out there, I think the pumps have a collection device that sucks up the fumes as you fill. That's the big, black, rubber boot that covers the filler.

I've never heard of this happening. If you were really concerned, you could probably flap the trunk lid up and down a few times and any fumes would be so diluted they could never ignite.

The big thing is to make sure the gas cap is NOT vented and the stock vent tube is not clogged up and is venting to the outside air.
