Day trip to Disney World Magic Kingdom

We drove The Wonder Falcon on a 183-mile round trip from Tampa to Disney World today. We took side highways rather than Interstate-4. The speed limit on I-4 is 70 mph, but everyone drives 80 or 90. I am happier while putzing along at 50 to 60.

Our car had the only round tail lights in the parking lot:

This is a nice mural on a Hess gas station we passed while exiting Disney:

This is an eye-catching souvenir shop outside of Disney:

    Thanks, Gene.

This car has a generator, standard steering and brakes, a two-speed Ford-O-Matic Drive, and a 260 V-8 with a stock cam and a stock two-barrel Autolite carburetor.

After a lot of effort, expense, and teething problems the car now runs dependably cool and quiet and smooth. It idles low and smooth, accelerates without hesitation, and gives great gas mileage. Every time I take this car out now I marvel at how well it runs.

This old car has made driving FUN again! I am studying road maps and making lists of places to see. The engine and transmission have been re-built and they should be good for at least another 100,000 miles. If I drive the Falcon 5,000 miles a year, I am good to go for the next twenty years! I hope to be powering up Pikes Peak and cruising along the rim of the Grand Canyon in 2033.

Where are all the lines of cars and people waiting to get into Disney World? This must be the time of year to go.

    Keep your pictures/stories coming.
