Kenny,
Didn't you get a 4-lug 8" rear and not a 5-lug? Or did you convert to 5 lug? I somehow thought there was a 4-lug 8" rear that was made for the Falcon... same width and all. Maybe I better do a little more research after I hear from you.

From what I remember, I think the 4-lug Mav is not very common. Maybe only 1 or 2 model years?? I got lucky...

I'll check with the guy, but it would be far cheaper to fix mine than to convert it to 5-lug or converta 5-lug to 4-lug - and have the driveline modified. I assume you had to also rework that too? I have already modified my driveline once when I did the 4-speed swap (lengthed it a few inches and did it myself), but if I have to change the yoke that's a different deal altogether. So if it's a 5 lug it might be worth getting if I was going to a V8, but that's not in the plan for now. And as for finding a Maverick. Ha!

The add states that it is from a 64 Futura. Wouldn't that have come with a four lug? Call the guy and see if it is four or five lugs.
It may not be the original so it could be anything. I was under the impression that the L6 cars came with the 7 1/4" and only the V8 cars came with the 8". The Futura would have been an L6 so the stock unit should be the 7 1/4". I bet that it is not original.
You could weld up the old stud holes and redrill for a four lug. You could also get new axles from Currie.

Well it turned out to be a V8/5-lug 8" and so I passed on it. Kenny, did you have to modify the rear yoke of the driveline to install that 8" you put in?

I did have to get a new yoke. The 7.25" & 8" are different. I also had to get the driveshaft shortened a bit (for the 2nd time since I had but in my C4 when I had the stock rearend). That was $167 at Driveline NW and also included new u-joints.
