    Door tag

While in Tucson I won a gift certificate in a drawing at a car show for a company called "Marti Auto Works". They go quite a bit of stuff and I visited their show room. I can get a new door tag for my Falcon made up by them but I am at a loss as to what to get on the tag.
Mine was totally eligible when I started the restoration of the car so I just painted over it.
Is there a way to know what to put on my "new" tag? Larry

That is a good question. Your VIN number is the easy part. Do you want the tag to read as the car came originally from Ford... or as close to your current build as possible (I don't think they offered a 347 stoker in 64).

The link above will show us what information we have to "make up".

    Door tag

Thanks Jeff, you are correct in "making it up". I would like it to read as it did the day the car was built, but not sure what all the information is? I know it was originally a turquoise. Other than that?? Larry

Any chance you've got your origional build sheet anywhere?
I happend to run into mine last weekend. Found it on the back of one of the rear door upholstry panels. It seems to have all the same origional info. that's on the door tag.

I also need a new tag. (Pic attached.) Do you know if they do tags like in the picture of the link? or do they also do them with all the patents etc. like on mine? I thought boasting all those patents was kind of cool.

    Door tag

Nope, no such luck having the build sheet. Also, I am not even sure the L/H door is the original door. I know that they are different years because one has a different seal retainer system on the bottom.
Go to their website that Jeff attached on his post and you can see the actual tags they have.
    Any ideas?????? Larry

You can get a little info here by entering just the VIN. But not much.

I think you'll just have to make up the rest.

    Door tag

I was able to find everything to put on the tag except for the date which I made up. I ordered the tag and rivets today. If and when I get the new tag installed I will send out a pic. Ordered it from Marti Auto Works. Larry

Larry - here's a link for what I got from them. Also, if you take yours off, they are stamped and you may see stuff on the backside you can't see on front. As you'll see in the pic. mine was well blasted.
