62 door seal question

I got new door seals, they seem to fit nice but had some extra length where it meets back by the door latch. But when closing the door it pinches the front of the door seal before it could be forced shut. Obviously I have the seal glued to the wrong area but where is the right area on the front edge of the door? It doesn't appear it could go between the hinge and door skin and where I have it now would contact the dome light switch. The old seals didn't even go down the front of the doors.

Turns out moving it 1/4" closer to the door panel area makes a difference. I laid inside and pulled the door closed to see where it pinches.
