No sway bar on 1964 170?

Is it possible that a 1964 170 w/manual steering and auto trans could come without a front sway bar? Mine doesn't have one, but I don't know if a previous owner might've removed it.

If it didn't come with, is there any reason I shouldn't add it?

Some base model cars were ordered without. Usually company fleet cars..

    I'd add one..

I may still have a used stock one laying around, but by the time it ships to Sarasota you may do better to look for a local one or new one on the aftermarket. I'd add one, for sure.

Going from a stock one to a heavy 1" bar, which I've done on both of mine, made the car drive so much better. Especially in any turn or curve. Wouldn't notice it much going straight. If you go with a heavier than stock bar you'll get all the parts to attach it too.
