    Late model C4

Since it was recommended I not install the early model C4 in my Falcon due to the 450 horsepower I'm installing I purchased a 78 C4 and now find that I will need a different rear support bracket. Any experience with this issue?

What year is your falcon? I'm assuming that the c-4 you have has the same mount as all non-falcon c-4 transmissions. You can get an aftermarket mount that is much stronger than the factory setup from Falcon Enterprises as well as several other vendors.

The early and late C4 is the same size. The best crossmember to use is the one from www.falconparts.com. Get a 72 or later case fill C4. Upgrade to a hardened input shaft and you'll be fine.

    C4

My Falcon is a C4. Am I misunderstanding something. You mention that they are the same size? I already had a C4 in the car but everything points to a different support for the 78 that I have. If all the C4's are the same does that mean I can use the support I have been using?

There was a change to the tailhousing. The early ones used the donut style mount and had the bolts inline to the tailhousing. The later ones used a mount that was perpendicular to the tranny. My C4 has holes for both style mounts. Yours may work with the early mount. The first year for the C4 in a Falcon was 65 so if you have an original 65 mount then it may work. The FalconParts.com mount will still be stronger than the original and I would recommend it if you going for big HP numbers.
