    Back from the sandbox

I have been offline for about a month as I travelled with my band to the Middle East to support the troops. Thought I would share a few photos with all of you.

Much to tell about the trip but in short it was a good experience to interact with people from the other side of the globe. All had a great time and as a bonus I came back without malaria.

Here are the countries we dropped into:
    • Ethiopia
    • Djibouti
    • Oman
    • U.A.E.
    • Kuwait
    • Qatar
    • Bahrain
    • U.K.

    Bahrain

    Hello, Brian.

It sounds like you had a great tour. The Naval Reserve sent me to Bahrain for two weeks in 2002. The people there are really nice and I liked the food and the music.

It was really exotic to breath the hot desert air and hear the calls to prayer from the minarets at sunset. It was like being in a Lawrence of Arabia movie.

Bahrain is ruled by a king who, to put it mildly, does not allow people to express negative sentiments towards him.

Looks like you double as the bouncer. Looks like you had a ton of fun, but... where's the YouTube video! It's 2016 FCOL!
