    The importance of... (fill in the blank)

    Just reading the Sonoma County Falcons newsletter and they posted the following picture with a caption:

    The remains of a 56 Chevy on the first lap of the cruise downtown after an engine fire.
    Just goes to show you that a small oversight on tightening a fuel line clamp or crimping a wire can have devastating effects. I'm not sure what this car looked like prior to this, but I'm sure they had tens-of-thousands invested.

    I think Hagerty covers that... Thats a real bummer and you're absolutely right. My carb boiling issue makes me nervous sometimes as well.

    Small anecdote... Last week I helped a friend replace an in-tank sending unit/pump, had to drop the whole tank. I had an extinguisher nearby for sure and I refused to let him run a cutoff tool for one of the tank strap bolts (it rusted from being on the east-coast). Lots of swear words getting the stuck bolt but no one blew up.
