    *First Ford Falcon*

    Hello,

My wife and I will be retiring in less than 5 years. Back in 1976 I built a 55 Chevy and in 1978 I started on a 57. A few years later I switched to Ford and have been a Ford fan ever since. We currently own a 1986 Ford Escape an a 2016 Ford Escape. Guess which one is mine. My wife and I are looking to purchase a 63 or 64 Falcon within the next year are two. We are not looking for a Pro Street car are a stock car. We want something in between with a little rumble (260, 289, 302), nice chrome wheels, nice paint and interior completed. We want the car that we buy to be a drive-able car and not a show piece. We want to drive it to local and not to far away events. We are looking to spend 10 to 12 large on this car. I have already been looking on line but what I see that I'm interested in was posted a few years back. Where is a good place to look for cars that are currently for sale in 2016? Also, Anything I need to look out for when looking to buy? Thanks for any help.

Start with Craigslist, here, the Falcon Club of America publications (have to be a member), Ebay, etc. Sometimes word of mouth works good too. Not sure where you are at but Craigslist always seems to have some decent looking ones. Of course, once you see them in person the perception of the photo may change.

    Happy hunting.

    Scott,

Thanks for the info. I live in Evansville, IN. Right at the Kentucky boarder line.

Have you tried old ride.com ?

    84 falcons posted right now.

We see quite a few postings in the ford falcon Facebook group too. People see one in their area, they want it to go to a good home, so they let everyone know.

I've been on that link quit a bit looking around. Everything I see that I like is out of my price range. 2040 is a nice site I go to a lot as well. A lot of the listings i see do not show the listing date. Seems to be a little difficult to find something current. Really looking for a 63 Sprint.

Do you have the ability to travel (i.e. tow a car home)? That could really open up possibilities.

No I do not have a trailer. Whatever we find would have to be within 5 hours away so I could drive it home. This makes our search much harder. We are in no hurry to find something. Probably start thinking really hard about a car in the Spring. The search is exciting though.

The issues will be greater on the rear, due to the flare. But I'm not sure what the largest will be.

I think you need a good 2-door wagon ( ), which you could load up with a nice Coyote motor. That would be sweet.

No 2 door wagon for me. Has to be a hard top Sprint or Futura and a bit of a muscle car. High back bucket seats. Little street machine. I do really like the Glacier Blue.
