Hello,

I'm looking for examples of Ming Green or Silver Moss Fords..
thinking of painting the new falcon one of those colors but would like to see some examples..

If anything it has to be original 60's ford

If anyone has pictures please share..

I've seen three of these cars that color and a few other colors -- and there's just something about a red 63 hardtop.

Living in the NW everything is green and grey'ish. You have a higher percentage of invisibility when your car matches your surroundings. I like to be seen in both my cars and motorcycle.

[AGREE] Does my vote count too?

Here is the picture that helped me decide to bring the original Ming Green back to my wagon.

It's from fordmuscle.com

Roger,

You want to know what the three most popular colors are?
Black, Red, White..

I'm wanting something a little more original.. There is a red hard top around here as well as two black ones.

The wife and I went down to the paint store and we are leaning more towards Silver moss green, just because we havent seen a silver moss falcon yet.. And the color is kinda cool..

The ming green is just a little too blue..

not that I'll be painting it anytime soon.. though i want to

Here's a scan from the late `62 brochure showing Silver Moss. I think it's a great color!

The funny thing is I still havent found any falcons actually painted that color..

I know where to look.. the place has lots of photos of falcons I just don't want to pay the membership fee to look at pictures..

The paint chip that was actually from 1963 in the ditzler ppg paint is a little lighter than the brochure.. which is to be expected.. Printing capabilities arent as good.

And 47 year old pigments fade. The only real way to know if take the Ford paint code to get a sample mixed. Or if you like the color of the chip, they can mix to match that.

The march or February issue of the Falcon news letter has a 63 silver moss falcon in it..

I also found out that the 63 fairlane 500 that is around the corner from me is silver moss green.. 100% all original car too.. the lady that owns it is 95 years old and it is her first new car. She claims that she's never had any engine work done to it..

Next time I see her I'll see if I can get pictures..
