For those of you I spoke with tonight, I think I found the method of install for my belts. The Vans all have the access panel behind the front door which is just wasted air.

This guy did a pretty good step by step on it here:

Not sure if it is useful for the cars but it looked nice and clean so I thought I would share.

That will look nice and clean. I never noticed the access panel. Make sure the edges to the opening are nice and smooth. Roger...didn't you hide yours under a panel on the Flairchero?

Honestly Brian, looks like a lot more work than what we talked about doing, but it does move it forward. I don't see all the details in that thread, but any bolt should have at least 4 full threads of engagement and he comments using a 1/8" piece of angle iron, which I assume he threaded as the nut. You might get 2, perhaps 3, threads in stock that thin (20 divided by 8 = 2.5 threads). Be sure you can get a nut behind that too.

Kenny, the Ranchero has a package tray and the retractor is up under that with the belt coming up through an opening I cut through the package tray. I'm using a 3" washer behind the retractor and the plate I slipped into the b-pillar is about 1/2" thick, and threaded.
