Wow! I saw this photo on e-bay that was labeled as "Ford Falcon Clan Carrozzeria Ghia October 1963 Original Black White Photograph".

The description read: "Nice original black and white press photograph of a Ford Falcon "CLAN" from Carrozzeria Ghia dated October 1963."

I thought: "Huh?" The wheel covers and windshield look like a Falcon's, but ... I googled it and found another photo of a Carrozzeria Ghia Falcon.

Cool! Look at the glass fastback roof.

See: http://www.karmannghia.it/Sartorelli.htm and scan down to 1963.

My guess is that it was a concept car that was side lined by the Mustang.

Holy Smokes! Now THAT is a roof rack!

Probably only good for hauling sheets of Bending Lauan plywood.

Some of the Ford guys must have snuck into the Plymouth design room and stole some plans and merged these two cars...

Chrysler said at the time that the 1960 Valiant had Italian styling. I guess that this was what they were talking about. Now that you have pointed it out, yes, the bumper, grill, and headlights on the Gorgonzola Falcon do look like a 1960 Valiant.
