I had thought that the Corvair must have been a lot lighter than a Falcon due to its having an air-cooled aluminum engine. It turned out that the 1960 Corvair was lighter than the 1960 Falcon, .... but only by ten pounds! The Corvair weighed 2415 lbs and the Falcon weighed 2425 lbs. Instead of being impressed with how light the Corvair was, I ended up wondering why it was so heavy.

And the Corvair's small weight advantage was negated by it's engine only making 80 HP and 125 lb-ft of torque compared to the Falcon's ThriftPower 144 motor that made 90 HP and 132 lb-ft of torque.

The 1960 Valiant was a nice car. I like the torsion bar suspension and the slant six engine, but .... at 2850 lbs the Valiant was 425 lbs heavier than the 1960 Falcon.

The following bit of information is non-Falcon related, but it caught my eye: Buddy Holly's motorcycle is being auctioned! Wow! ;:)

Willie Nelson's braids did not impress me as much. They are kind of gross.
