I´m having a hard time identifying the engine on my 1962 wagon, so I thought that you guys could help me with it:D

I also found a tag with this number B115408

Looks like a Ford Straight Six to me! :ROTFLMAO:

One way to eliminate a few is to count the freeze plugs on the side under the manifold. 144 & 170 have 3, 200 has 5. Also on that side you will see some casting number though they may be hard to read without some cleaning.

wierd the battery is on the wrong side of the car..

My 62 has the battery on the passenger side of the car..

I know in 63 with a v-8 they moved the battery to the drivers side..

I was thinking the same thing. The horn should be mounted to the strut rod brace low in the engine bay as well.

I've not seen a Falcon with the battery on the left side. They have always been on the right AFAIK. I'm not sure about 66-70. The 63-65 turned the battery 90 degrees and tucked them into the radiator support a bit. The rock guard is also shaped differently to accommodate the battery turn.

I know a guy with a 63 convertible that is a v-8 car and the battery is located on the driverside, but I think he moved it to the trunk..

But I think you are right they just rotated the battery 90* to accommodate something that was wider on the v-8 set-up

I've seen many a 60-65 Falcon and have never seen a driver-side battery mount from the factory... but there's nothing saying someone couldn't do it fr some reason. Note: the solinoid is still on the passenger side.

As for engine size, I'd guess at the size based on the carb at being a 144 or 170 -- and I'm leaning on the 170 side since it's a wagon.

I just pulled this picture off the H.A.M.B. - 1963 - 2 door HD that is for sale. Note the battery tray.

It had an underdash A/C unit
